There are things on this earth that feel larger than life.

For me, whales are one of those things. I’ve seen their massive skeletons and can’t help but stand in awe. The same goes for the depths of the oceans—wild-lands to us humans. And the unfathomable vastness of our universe. Maybe that’s why I like painting whales. It helps me come to terms with something larger than life. This majestic creature finally makes sense to me when I see it swimming across an 11×14 sheet of art paper.
