Sorry fam but I have absolutely no point of reference for this lyric, but Phil convinced me to add it in LOL. Anyhoo, I love this piece because it’s a wedding day icon. The dusty, old blue pickup truck. A dismal, symbol of decay that helps the gorgeous bride and groom glow in contrast. For me and Phil, there was nothing of the sort. Nothing you’d find in a bridal magazine. Phil and I just posed in front of an empty, green field. Not a single interesting thing going on back there, just varying shades of green with some trees way in the distance.
I wish we had a blue pickup truck to pose in front of. So I painted one.
Call me a dreamer, but I can’t help but imagine Phil and I standing in front of the truck in our Toms. Looking bad-ass as we stare into the camera—dreaming of the fantastic future we were about to step into.
